Marie provides Executive Recruitment and Human Resource Consulting. KumabeHR incorporates cutting edge technology and an enviable network to the search for top talent. She has spent the last 10 years actively engaged with Hawaii companies, partnering with them to insure that their organizations have access to the best HR trends as well as leadership candidates. She has over 20 years in business, with 15 years specifically in staffing and recruitment. Marie is a recognized leader in the field of staffing and human resources in the state as is demonstrated by her appointment as the current Faculty Director for the Masters of Human Resources Management program at the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii.The 15 year unique relationship Kumabe has with the University delivers an amazing network representing the top emerging talent available in the state. She launched a successful national staffing franchise and sold her interests to start her own company and serve the community on her terms. She has also served as Director of Human Resources for American Hawaii Cruises and has held senior management positions with Continental and Northwest Airlines. Marie received her undergraduate degree from UCLA in International Relations with an emphasis in Business, and holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. She is active in organizations like the Junior League of Honolulu, Nuuanu YMCA Board, the UH TIM Alumni Organization and Aloha United Way.
Kara oversees Kumabe HR’s Staffing Division and internal operations. With over fourteen years of experience in human resources, including talent acquisition, staffing, employee relations and training & development, she is an effective leader and great resource for our client companies and employees. She ensures that our clients receive the highest quality of services so that they can identify and attain top level talent for their organizations’ success.
Kara received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources and an Executive Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Hawaii, Shidler College of Business. She has extensive community involvement, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Atherton YMCA. Kara is also active with the Society of Human Resource Management and has been a tremendous supporter of student organizations over the years.

Kim is a passionate HR professional who focuses on special consulting projects and executive recruitment searches tailored to each client’s culture and business needs. Her expertise was gained from 18-years experience working in human resources and career development – including overall human resources strategy, talent attraction, staffing & retention, compensation & benefits, employee relations, performance management and leadership development.
Kim earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and an Executive Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Hawaii, Shilder College of Business, which she believes gave her a deeper appreciation of people and business, enabling her to propose excellent matches that benefit both candidates and companies.
An active member of the community, Kim volunteers in various capacities at several nonprofit organizations including Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, IHS and Palama Settlement.
Linell manages operations, staff development, and compliance. She also assists in business development, staffing, and consulting. With over fourteen years of progressive professional experience, Linell brings ten years of management experience in sales, recruitment, training and development, and customer relations from various retail establishments, including her most recent employer, M.A.C. Cosmetics. Linell received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Justice Administration from the University of Hawaii at West Oahu. She also received her Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and is also a candidate for an Associates of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies with an emphasis in labor relations and employment law. In addition, Linell is actively engaged with the non-profit community, and is a longtime volunteer with the Life Foundation and the Girl Scouts of Hawaii. She is also an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Hawaii Chapter and the Aloha United Way Society of Young Leaders. Linell’s extensive knowledge in employment law combined with her exceptional communication skills serve as a great resource for our clients and employees.
Kristine is an instrumental part of the Staffing Division with over 5 years of experience in human resources and customer service. She is also responsible for administering employee benefits and orchestrating career fairs and community outreach events. Kristine received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources and an Executive Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from University of Hawaii at Manoa, Shidler College of Business.
Kristine values community involvement and currently serves on the Board for the Society of Human Resource Management Hawaii as the Co-Chair of Young Professionals and an active member of the Filipino Junior Chamber. In addition, Kristine continues to support the Society of Human Resource Management, Aloha Chapter and the Business Executive Society of Tomorrow at the University of Hawaii Manoa as she is an avid alumnus for both organizations.
Glenda is a key team member of the Staffing Division with over 5 years of experience in human resources. She is also responsible for managing payroll and employee records.
Glenda earned her Bachelors of Business Administration in Human Resources and is currently pursuing her Master's of Human Resource Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Shidler College of Business. She serves on the IT and Communications Committee for Hawaii Compensation Group and is an active member of Society of Human Resource Management of Hawaii’s Young Professionals Group. Glenda’s passion for community outreach is also demonstrated by her involvement with the local universities and with Nanakuli High and Intermediate School.
Melissa provides administrative support to staff in areas of recruitment, payroll, training, and benefits. Her responsibilities include working with the company’s HR Information System, scheduling interviews, and organizing events and special projects.
Melissa received her associates degree in Liberal Arts and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Shidler College of Business. She is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management, Aloha Chapter.
